THE USE OF BANSKÁ ŠTIAVNICA WORLD CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE IN GEOTURISM AND MINING TOURISM

Abstrakt
The work content is to elaborate the sequence of Banská Štiavnica sights protection. The introduction deals with a brief history of the town and region. Then, the work includes a systematically divided progress according to years as t has followed. It is mainly about the development of sight protection from the establishment of the first museum, proclamation of the town sight preservation, effort to preserve the most precious buildings and culmination by inscription into the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage up to today.
The next part focuses on tourism. Banská Štiavnica region has a great potential to be used in tourism, geotourism and mining tourism. It deals particularly with mining-technical, natural and cultural sights which become crucial in the tourism development. We occupy with the documents and the strategy with the whole state effect and their use in Banská Štiavnica region. We use SWOT analyses and its strengths as a basic document to develop tourism. We evaluate present state in the field and come up with results and recommendations for the products which seem to be strategic in tourism, geotourism and mining tourism in our region.
