Abstract:
Pregradual teacher education is focused on theory in the bachelor´s degree program on theory and on pedagogical practice in the master's program in Slovak republic. The comparison of some European countries shows that we have fewer hours to practice teaching. In Slovak schools, there also absent assistants, who pupils need because of their specific needs in school education. A survey conducted at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica among students of biology and geography shows that students are open for creating a new subject focused on pedagogical practice of a teacher's as-sistant. There is a need to discuss possible solutions to the situation of future teacher education.
